I've long wondered at what point the cultural slide would truly bottom out. You know – how many former Mickey Mouse Club members have to bare their private parts while American parents continue to encourage their kids to idolize them (and the prepubescent versions of them continuing the bizarre trend of childhood celebrity whose end we can now predict with 97% certainty) – how many grown-ups who otherwise appear to be relatively mature and, in some cases, claim to be interested in things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy…how many of those grown-ups have to become the key demographic for shows and movies primarily about indiscriminate and arbitrary sexuality, greed, and violence – how many teams have to sign TO believing they can make it work?
That kind of thing. How much of that has to happen before the whole thing collapses under its own weight and the curtain is pulled once and for all? You ever wonder that? I do.
Well, we can wonder no more. I just saw a promo for Ryan Seacrest's new show Momma's Boys.
And I think that's an ender, folks.
